Bird AI is an advanced feature that helps you identify birds in recorded videos and learn more about them. With its advanced AI algorithm, Bird AI can recognize over 10,000 bird species worldwide. In this comprehensive guide, we'll show you how to use Bird AI to discover and appreciate the beauty of birds.
How to Activate Bird AI
To get started with Bird AI, you'll first need to meet the following requirements:
- A compatible device supports bird recognition
Make sure you have a smart bird feeder or camera that is compatible with our app and supports bird recognition. Once your device is set up, connect it to the app to begin using Bird AI.
- An active Awareness Service Plan
Bird AI features are included with all Awareness Gen2 or Awareness packages—no matter which plan you choose.

How to Use Bird AI
Once Bird AI is activated, you can start using a range of intelligent features that help you explore and learn more about birds. Here's how each feature works:
Receiving Bird Notifications
Get notified whenever your camera detects a bird.
- In the app, go to the device settings and tap "Notification Settings" to find "Bird Fans."
- Enabling "Bird Fans" lets the AI analyze recorded videos and recognize bird species.
- Turn on "Notification" under "Bird Fans" to receive push alerts like "A bird detected" when a bird is recognized.
Filtering Bird Videos
Easily find and view all your bird videos in the app's Library.
- Once you have enabled "Bird Fans" on the "Notification Settings" page, the AI algorithm will analyze the video to recognize birds.
- If a bird is recognized, the video will be marked with a bird icon.
- Go to the Library page and tap the filter icon in the upper-left corner.
- Select the "Bird" option to quickly view only bird-related videos.
Viewing Bird Species Information
Learn more about the birds recognized in your recorded videos.
- When a video in the Library is tagged with a bird icon, it means the AI has detected a bird.
- If a ">" symbol appears next to "A bird detected" on the playback page, the AI has recognized a similar bird species. Tap the symbol to view the suggested species and read a short Wiki explanation to learn more.
- If no species is shown or the recognition result is incorrect, tap "Send Feedback" to fill in the correct name of the bird, and we will continue to optimize the AI algorithm to provide you with more accurate bird recognition results.
