Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I create separate SSIDs for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands?
A: Creating separate SSIDs for each band allows you to easily distinguish between the 2.4GHz and 5Ghz networks, ensuring better control over which band your devices connect to. The 2.4GHz band is better for longer-range connections, while the 5Ghz band provides faster speeds but with a shorter range.
Q: Can I change the password for each band separately?
A: Yes, you can set different passwords for each SSID if you wish. However, it's generally recommended to use the same password for both bands for ease of use.
Q: What if I don't see the 5GHz network on my phone?
A: Some older devices may not support 5GHZ Wi-Fi. Ensure that your phone supports the 5GHz band and that it's enabled in your router settings. If your device doesn't support 5GHz, it will only see the 2.4GHz network.
Q: Do I need to reconnect devices after changing the SSID?
A: Yes, after changing the SSID names for the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, you will need to reconnect all devices to the new network names. The password will remain the same unless you change it.
