Connection Methods
Before proceeding to App Setup, note that there are two ways to add your 4G camera to the app:
- Bluetooth Connection (Recommended) → Automatically detects your camera via Bluetooth and sends the network info.
- QR Code Connection (Alternative) → Use this method when Bluetooth is not available, your phone doesn’t detect the camera, or pairing fails.
This article focuses on the QR code setup method.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Insert a SIM Card
To connect your camera, insert an activated SIM card:
- Option 1: Pre-installed SIM Card (Recommended)
- Already in camera
- Comes with setup data
- Recharge in the app after binding
- Option 2: Your Own SIM Card
- Remove pre-installed card and insert yours
- May require manual APN setup (in app)
- The SIM card must be 4G/LTE-compatible and work with U.S. carriers such as AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon.
2. Power on the Camera
- Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds, until you hear the startup sound and the blue indicator light turns on.
3. Enter Pairing Mode
3.1 First-Time Pairing
- When the device is powered on for the first time, it will automatically enter pairing mode.
- You’ll see the blue indicator light flashing and hear a repeated “Ding Dong Ding Dong” sound.
3.2 Re-Pairing (Previously Connected Device)
If the camera was previously paired, it won’t enter pairing mode automatically. To activate pairing mode manually:
- After powering on the camera, quickly double-press the power button.
- Once pairing mode is activated, the blue indicator light will start flashing and you’ll hear a repeated “Ding Dong Ding Dong” sound.
4. Connect via QR Code in the App
- Open the app
- If this is your first time adding a device → tap “Add Camera Now” on the home screen.
- If you’ve added devices before → tap the “+” icon in the upper-right corner and choose “Add a new device.”
- On the “Turn on the device” screen → make sure the camera is powered on and in pairing mode.
Once you hear the startup sound — a repeated “Ding Dong Ding Dong” — tap “I heard the sound”, then tap “Next Step.” - On the “Choose your device” screen → if your camera is not listed, tap “Other connection methods.”
- Select “Connect via 4G”, then tap “Continue.”
- You’ll see a QR code on screen. Hold your phone 15–25 cm in front of the camera lens.
- When scanned successfully → you’ll first hear a “beep”, followed by the voice prompt “Connection succeeded.” The app will display “Connecting...” as it finalizes the setup.
5. Final Configuration
- After the QR code is successfully scanned, the app will display the “View Camera Live Feed” screen. Tap “Next Step” to continue.
- On the “Set a name and location” page → name your device and choose a location.
- Once saved, you’ll see “Device added successfully.”
- Tap “Let’s start” to view the installation guide.
- If you need to add more cameras → tap “Add another device” to repeat the setup process.
- If you select “Let’s start”, follow the on-screen steps and tap “Finish” when done.
- You’ll then return to the home screen and can begin using your camera.
