Connection Methods
This camera supports:
- Camera Connection (Recommended): App transfers Wi-Fi details to the light bulb camera via the device’s hotspot (IPC_XXXXXX).
- QR Code Setup (Backup): Use this if the device hotspot doesn’t appear.
This article focuses on the Camera hotspot connection setup method.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Choose a Light Socket
- Use a standard E27 or E26 socket (110V–240V)
- Avoid dimmer-controlled sockets, as they may interfere with power supply
- Choose a location near your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi router for better signal
Note: Check the user manual for model-specific voltage or socket requirements
2. Power on the Camera
- Turn off power to the socket before installation
- Screw the light bulb camera into the socket securely
- Turn the socket back on—the camera will automatically turn on
3. Enter Pairing Mode
3.1 First-Time Pairing
When powered on for the first time, the light bulb camera automatically enters pairing mode.
- You’ll see a flashing blue light.
- You’ll hear “Ding Dong Ding Dong”, indicating it’s ready to be added in the app.
3.2 Re-Pairing (Previously Connected Device)
If the light bulb camera has been paired before and you're reconnecting it again, it won’t enter pairing mode automatically.
To manually enter pairing mode:
- Press and hold the Reset button (located near the MicroSD card slot) for 5–7 seconds.
- Release when you hear the “Ding Dong Ding Dong” sound.
- The blue light will start flashing, confirming it’s ready to connect.
4. Connect via Camera Hotspot in the App
4.1 Enable Bluetooth
- Turn on Bluetooth in your phone’s settings.
- On Android, simply turn on Bluetooth in system settings.
- On iOS, turn on Bluetooth and make sure the app has Bluetooth permission in Settings.
4.2 Open the app
- If this is your first time adding a device, tap “Add Camera Now” on the home screen.
- If you’ve added devices before, tap the “+” icon in the upper-right corner and choose “Add a new device.”
4.3 Detect the camera
Once you're on the “Turn on the device” screen— the app will begin scanning for nearby devices via Bluetooth:
- If your camera is found, a “New device found” alert will appear with a red dot on the camera icon.
→ Tap to check the model and SN, then proceed.
→ You’ll be taken to the Wi-Fi setup screen. - If no device is found:
→ Tap “I heard the sound” → “Next Step”
→ Select your camera model to continue.
4.4 Connect to the Camera’s Hotspot
- On the Wi-Fi setup screen, enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi name and password, then tap “Next Step.”
- Confirm the info in the pop-up by tapping “Confirm.”
Next, the app will display instructions saying your camera has created a temporary Wi-Fi network:
- Tap “Got it.”
- Your phone will now prompt you to join the camera’s temporary hotspot, which usually starts with “IPC_” in its name.
→ Tap “Join” to connect.
You’ll then be redirected to the “Connecting...” screen where the app begins the setup.
4.5 Use QR Code as Backup
- If your camera still doesn’t appear, tap “Other connection methods.”
- Select “Connect via QR code”, then tap “Continue”.
Use the QR code method if camera hotspot connection fails or your camera isn't detected.
5. Final Configuration
- After the camera connects successfully, it will automatically jump to “Set a name and location for the device”
- Enter a name and choose a location, then tap “Next Step”
You’ll see “Device added successfully”, then:
- If you need to add more cameras, tap “Add another device” to repeat the setup process.
- If you tap “Let’s start” to go through the installation guide. On the next screen, the app will check signal quality:
- If signal is good, tap “Next Step”
- Follow each step of the on-screen installation guidance
- Tap “Finish” to complete setup
You’ll then return to the Home screen, and the device is ready to use.
